Palais Galliera, Paris: "Papier glacé"

I went to le Palais Galliera (Paris) to see the exhibition "Papier glacé". This is an excellent retrospective of fashion photography from 1918 to the current day. There are many original photographs from Condé Nast magazines (Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour...). If you are curious to know the exhibited photographers, there are: Man Ray, David Bailey, Norman Parkinson, Patrick Demarchelier, Helmut Newton, Terry Richardson and many others. I figured out how photography plays a key role in the evolution of fashion and on the other side, photography built its history through fashion. I actually asked myself the questions:
does photography create fashion? Does photography dictate fashion trends? Can photography exist without fashion?
The exhibitions ends on an opening message: the video support.
I felt so excited when I saw Jean Shrimpton by David Bailey in New York. I've always loved his work and these series of photographs embody his career to me: they are so modern and classic at the same time in my opinion... This exhibition is great, I had the impression to read a fashion magazine in 3-D as many quotations and items are emphasized. The work research is significant
If you are in Paris and if you love fashion and photography, you should see this exhibition! Informations: Palais Galliera
J'ai adoré voir Jean Shrimpton prise par David Bailey à New York.
Informations: Palais Galliera
